The City of Sarasota, FL wanted to offer user-friendly, digital-forward options for citizens to easily apply for permits, schedule inspections, and renew licenses. In 2020, as COVID brought the need for digital transformation in government to the forefront, it was apparent that citizens wanted the option to access services digitally and via phone, without the need to make an in-person appointment.

By investing in technology and innovation, the City aimed to position itself as a leader in municipal services and create a more business-friendly environment for residents and entrepreneurs.

COLLABORATIVE SOLUTIONS

In 2020, the City integrated FastTrackGov® with Selectron Technologies’ Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and SelecTXT, allowing contractors and citizens to schedule inspections, review statuses, and pay fees over the phone or by text. 24/7 access further supported the department’s desire to enhance services for their citizens. Through this new system integration, FastTrackGov® provided better data tracking and reporting capabilities and enabled the City to analyze trends and make informed decisions. With these integrated solutions, the City hoped to promote economic development and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
